Mij's bio

Mij Korsta was born in the chaotic city of Mirogana, a bustling trade hub on Toshara known for its criminal underworld and Imperial oppression. Toshara's volatile environment shaped Mij's life from an early age. His parents, laborers who dreamed of freedom for their family, were outspoken critics of Imperial rule. When Mij was only eight years old, they were executed in the streets by Imperial officers during a botched resistance attempt. This traumatic event left Mij orphaned, hardened, and alone.

Forced to survive, Mij took to the streets, panhandling and scavenging for food while avoiding Imperial patrols. His father, a skilled hunter, had taught him the basics of survival, including the use of a blaster. His father’s worn-out blaster pistol became Mij's most prized possession—a relic of his family’s brief but meaningful legacy.

At thirteen, while shooting Kowakian monkey-lizards for food, Mij was discovered by Gorak, a Pyke Syndicate boss who admired the young teen’s sharp aim and steady hands. Gorak saw potential in the boy and offered him a deal: join the Syndicate as an enforcer and mercenary. For Mij, the offer of food, shelter, and credits was impossible to refuse. Thus began his life as a hired gun under Gorak’s mentorship.

Life with the Pyke Syndicate

Under Gorak’s wing, Mij became a skilled marksman, learning how to use both light and heavy blasters, and later mastering vibroblades for close-quarters combat. The Syndicate trained him to act as both a soldier and a bodyguard, roles he filled with ruthless efficiency. By the time he reached adulthood, Mij had earned a reputation as a reliable enforcer.

Despite Gorak’s harshness, Mij felt a sense of belonging within the Syndicate. However, his employment came to an abrupt and bitter end when a smuggling operation went catastrophically wrong.

Mij had been tasked with protecting a shipment of spice moving through Toshara’s dangerous Crimson Expanse. Unfortunately, an ambush by rival Crimson Dawn operatives led to the loss of the cargo. Mij barely escaped with his life, but Gorak, furious at the failure, held him personally responsible. Although Gorak spared him out of respect for their past relationship, Mij was exiled from the Syndicate and warned not to return.

Current Standing with Toshara’s Factions

Pyke Syndicate: Strained. Gorak’s exile decree left Mij bitter, but he avoids provoking the Syndicate. Whether Gorak still holds a grudge or has moved on remains uncertain.

Crimson Dawn: Hostile. Mij despises Crimson Dawn for the ambush that destroyed his career and made him a target for Syndicate blame.

Hutt Cartel: Neutral. Mij’s dealings with the Hutts have been minimal, and he considers them another opportunistic faction to navigate carefully.

The Empire: Hated. Mij harbors a burning hatred for the Empire, stemming from his parents’ murder. Although he avoids direct confrontation, he’s been known to sabotage patrols or ambush stormtroopers when the opportunity arises.

Personality and Beliefs

Mij is a pragmatic survivor with a cynical worldview. His life has taught him to rely on his own skills and instincts rather than trust in others—or in what he calls “hokey religions” like the Force. He views the galaxy as a harsh, unforgiving place where only the strong survive, and he’s determined to make his way through it on his own terms.

Though hardened, Mij retains a flicker of compassion, often hidden beneath layers of sarcasm and stoicism. He empathizes with others who’ve suffered under the Empire’s cruelty and has been known to help downtrodden individuals, especially orphans and refugees.

Mij Korsta is at a crossroads. Out of work and disconnected from his old life, he roams the Outer Rim in search of purpose. While his hatred for the Empire drives him to resist their influence wherever possible, Mij also yearns for stability and belonging. Whether that means rebuilding his reputation with the Syndicate, forging new alliances, or carving his own path remains to be seen.

For now, Mij’s primary concern is survival.
