Session 1 Notes

Stranded on Teth for weeks, Mij navigates the challenges of Sik Town’s barter economy and avoids the dangerous Gek gang. Low on funds and unable to barter transport off this rock, he visits The Jewel , a dimly lit cantina run by former bounty hunter Grayson, looking for work. Hearing about Hysio Typho’s jungle expedition, Mij is tempted, but his attention is drawn to a sabacc game. He joins with a 50-credit buy-in. Despite losing the first two rounds, he identifies Ledo’s tell and charms information about the Dulgo heist. However, Kronn, another player, catches on and keeps Mij struggling. Desperate, Mij bets Hysio's expedition lead and wins back 50 credits. He considers leaving but is drawn back into the game. When the stakes escalate—a thermal detonator, a swoop bike, and pit droids—Mij steps out, watching Hu’nam, a Bith player, win the pot. Hu’nam buys Mij a drink, and they discuss prospects. A Gek gang member briefly enters but doesn’t notice Mij. With few options left, Mij acc...

After five years with the Wraith, Mij is stranded on Teth following a heist gone wrong.

Mij’s Thoughts on His Former Crew.

Jaereth Kaine: Mij and Jaereth were like oil and water when it came to leadership. Mij constantly chafed under Jaereth’s command, and their disagreements over plans and strategy often led to heated exchanges. When Mij felt Jaereth’s ideas were doomed to fail, he wouldn’t hesitate to go rogue and improvise—a tendency that caused more than a few headaches for the crew. Beneath the tension, though, Mij acknowledged Jaereth’s authority and begrudgingly respected his decisiveness. What stung more, however, was Jaereth’s relationship with Suzy. Seeing the woman Mij secretly admired in Jaereth’s arms only added fuel to their friction. Suzy Kis: Though he’d never admit it outright, Mij harbored a not-so-secret infatuation with Suzy. Her fiery spirit, mastery of martial arts, and unwavering loyalty to Jaereth captivated him. Whenever Jaereth wasn’t around, Mij would flirt shamelessly, only to be met with Suzy’s playful but firm rejections. Despite the brush-offs, Suzy seemed to enjoy his antics...

Mij's Personality:

Mij Korsta is rough around the edges, with a sharp tongue and a self-serving attitude that often masks a more complicated personality. He’s pragmatic to a fault, always weighing the risks and rewards of any given situation, and his loyalty tends to follow the path of least resistance—or the biggest payout. Mij is direct, often to the point of rudeness, and isn’t afraid to speak his mind, even if it rubs people the wrong way. He thrives on practicality, valuing action over words and results over ideals. Though he seems brash and selfish, there’s a streak of begrudging loyalty to those who earn his respect. Mij is no hero, but he won’t abandon a crew that’s proven itself capable and dependable, even if he complains about the effort. He has a dark sense of humor, often cracking jokes at the worst times, and he’s not above bluffing, bullying, or bending the truth to get what he wants. Beneath his gruff exterior, though, lies someone who understands the harsh realities of life and survival—...

The Last Score:

Mij’s last job on Teth was supposed to be his ticket to a better payout—and a quick departure. The target had been Dulgo the Hutt’s palace, a sprawling fortress on the edge of Sik Town that housed a vault brimming with treasures. His crew had been hired to liberate one particularly valuable prize from the Hutt’s stash, and against all odds, they’d pulled it off. The score was theirs, and all that remained was a clean getaway. After the job, Mij decided he’d earned a little celebration. He headed to the cantina, intending to kill some time before the extraction. A few drinks and a particularly gripping sabacc game later, time had slipped through his fingers. By the time he realized how late it was, it was too late. He raced to the rendezvous point just in time to see the Wraith, a sleek YT-2000 class freighter, lifting off and vanishing into the atmosphere without him. Now, stranded in Sik Town with little more than his gear and his pride, Mij is left to figure out his next move on...

Session 0 Notes:

Teth’s lush jungles and ancient ruins provide a striking yet unforgiving setting for Mij Korsta’s predicament. Stranded in the ramshackle settlement of Sik Town, which clings to the outskirts of one of Teth’s many overgrown B’omarr ruins, Mij reflects on a heist gone wrong. His crew scattered after the job fell apart, leaving him with little more than his blaster, his gear, his wits, and a handful of credits—not nearly enough to secure passage off the planet. J'ji''lipel Hu'nam, a hungover Bith musician, stumbles through Sik Town’s sweltering streets. Wallet missing, bandmates absent, and kicked out of the underground Jatz club where he gigged the night before, he’s in dire need of a drink, a gig, and a ride—likely in that order. What Hu’nam doesn’t remember is playing a few rounds of Sabacc with Mij that night, losing his last credits in the process. Mij remembers, though, and while he enjoyed the Bith’s music and found him amusing, he doubts Hu’nam would feel the sam...

The Dusty Jawas:

Mij Korsta’s favorite band, The Dusty Jawas, is a legendary group that emerged from the deserts of Tatooine to take the galaxy by storm with their infectious beats and irreverent style. Known for their hit song “Utinni,” the band’s music combines high-energy rhythms with a uniquely Tatooine flair, blending salvaged droid sounds, unconventional instruments, and the unmistakable cadence of the Jawa language. Their sound is loud, brash, and unapologetically fun—a celebration of ingenuity and rebellion against the monotony of life on the Outer Rim. The Dusty Jawas' lineup includes charismatic front-jawa Waka, who delivers rapid-fire verses in flawless Jawaese, accompanied by the innovative beats of Zidi, who rigs together bizarre percussion instruments from repurposed starship parts. The group’s synth artist, Kizi, is known for playing an ancient keyboard patched together with salvaged hyperdrive components, creating the band's signature layered sound. Together, they mix humor and...

Mij's knowledge of the Death Star incident:

Mij Korsta's knowledge of the Death Star's destruction is pieced together from the fragmented and often contradictory information that trickled into the Outer Rim. On Nar Shaddaa, where information flows freely but is often distorted, Mij heard rumors in cantinas, smugglers' dens, and gambling halls. Some stories painted the Rebel Alliance as bold heroes who struck a critical blow against the Empire, while others framed them as reckless terrorists inviting chaos. The details Mij gathered were incomplete: he knew the destruction occurred at Yavin and that a Rebel pilot was responsible for delivering the final blow. However, specifics like the Death Star's planetary-destroying capabilities or the full scope of the Rebellion's involvement were shrouded in misinformation. Propaganda holovids from the Empire denounced the Rebels as dangerous insurrectionists, while underground news sources celebrated the act as a triumph of freedom over tyranny. Mij filtered what he hea...

"Know when to hold 'em"

The smoky air of the Nar Shaddaa cantina was thick with tension and the hum of murmured conversations. Neon lights flickered erratically, casting strange shadows on the gathered crowd. At a corner table, Mij Korsta leaned back in his chair, his usual composure masking the pressure of the moment. His opponent, Ita Odo, sat across from him, her sharp Rodian features illuminated by the glow of the Sabacc pot. It wasn’t just any Sabacc game. It was Corellian Spike Sabacc, the most unpredictable version of the galaxy’s most unpredictable game. The stakes were high: All of Mij’s earnings from the last job he ran against a hefty pile of credits and a rare Tibanna gas canister that Ita had brought to the table. The small crowd that had gathered around them whispered among themselves, eager to witness the outcome. Ita, ever the showwoman, gave the audience a sly glance as she shuffled the deck with a flourish. “Your move, Korsta,” she said, her voice as smooth as the Corellian brandy she ...

Ita Odo

Image
Early Life on Rodia Born in the humid jungles of Rodia, Ita Odo grew up in the city of Equatorius, a bustling trade hub known for its underworld dealings. Ita’s family was poor, eking out a living selling scavenged goods from the dangerous swamps. From a young age, Ita learned how to move unseen and think quickly to survive the rough streets. Her father, a cunning but unlucky gambler, introduced her to the galaxy’s games of chance. By the time she was a teenager, Ita had mastered Pazaak and Kessel Sabacc, often sneaking into cantinas to hustle travelers out of their credits. However, her sharp mind and quick hands didn’t go unnoticed, and she soon caught the attention of local crime bosses. Arrival on Nar Shaddaa When Ita was 19, she fled Rodia after a botched theft from a Crimson Dawn spice runner. She hitched a ride on a smuggler's freighter and ended up on Nar Shaddaa, the Smuggler’s Moon. There, Ita carved out a life as a thief and gambler, exploiting the chaos and corruption o...

How Mij Korsta feels about the Empire and Rebellion

Mij Korsta sees the galaxy as a chaotic and unforgiving place. His life on Toshara, shaped by the death of his parents and his rough upbringing, has left him with a cynical outlook. To Mij, the galaxy is ruled by those with power, and everyone else must scrape by however they can. He believes in survival over ideals and pragmatism over hope, having learned the hard way that trust in institutions or grand causes often leads to disappointment—or worse. Living under Imperial rule has only hardened his skepticism. Mij harbors a deep-seated hatred for the Empire, blaming them for the deaths of his parents and the oppression he witnessed daily on Toshara. To him, the Empire is a vast machine of exploitation and cruelty, caring nothing for the lives it destroys in pursuit of control and order. While he despises the Imperials, he avoids direct confrontation unless provoked, understanding that overt resistance is often a losing battle for someone like him. When necessary, though, he won’t ...

Mij Korsta and Sabacc

Mij Korsta and Sabacc Sabacc isn’t just a card game for Mij Korsta—it’s a microcosm of the galaxy itself, where skill, cunning, and a bit of luck determine who walks away a winner. Introduced to the game by Pyke Syndicate enforcers during his early years in Mirogana, Mij quickly realized Sabacc was more than a way to pass the time. For him, it became an escape from the grim reality of his work and a rare chance to feel in control of his chaotic life. Sabacc Habits and Style Mij approaches Sabacc much like his mercenary work: methodically, with a readiness to adapt to changing circumstances. He plays with a balance of caution and aggression, never tipping too far into either extreme. He’s adept at reading opponents, observing their tells, and calculating their moves, skills honed during his years as a bodyguard and blaster-for-hire. His preferred variant, Kessel Sabacc, appeals to his love of quick thinking and high stakes. Though he’s still mastering its nuances, the game’s unpred...

Mij's bio

Image
Mij Korsta was born in the chaotic city of Mirogana, a bustling trade hub on Toshara known for its criminal underworld and Imperial oppression. Toshara's volatile environment shaped Mij's life from an early age. His parents, laborers who dreamed of freedom for their family, were outspoken critics of Imperial rule. When Mij was only eight years old, they were executed in the streets by Imperial officers during a botched resistance attempt. This traumatic event left Mij orphaned, hardened, and alone. Forced to survive, Mij took to the streets, panhandling and scavenging for food while avoiding Imperial patrols. His father, a skilled hunter, had taught him the basics of survival, including the use of a blaster. His father’s worn-out blaster pistol became Mij's most prized possession—a relic of his family’s brief but meaningful legacy. At thirteen, while shooting Kowakian monkey-lizards for food, Mij was discovered by Gorak, a Pyke Syndicate boss who admired the young teen’s s...
